AMSHeR consistently advocates for human rights principles as the basis of health and development programming, emphasising equality and addressing marginalisation, exclusion and discrimination. The constant challenge is to identify and address the different forms of discrimination, power imbalances and structural factors that perpetuate marginalisation.
Mission
AMSHeR’s mission is to strengthen capacity, partnerships and collaborations amongst LGBT+
focused civil society organisations in Africa, and to deepen alliances with other social
movements that champion health, human rights, social justice and development.
