Earl Lee

Board Member

Earl Lee (they/them/theirs) is an educator, scholar, and strategist whose work bridges anti-oppressive practices, inclusive leadership, and community-centered care. In their full-time role, Earl serves as the Assistant Dean for Inclusive Excellence at Arizona State University’s Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation. With a deep commitment to social justice, their work empowers marginalized communities, particularly Black and LGBTQ+ populations, to thrive in educational spaces. Earl’s work focuses on LGBTQ+ advocacy, racial and health equity, and the transformative power of storytelling. They have led institution-wide equity initiatives, designed inclusive mentorship programs in STEMM, and developed a humanities-rooted curriculum to train future healthcare professionals in cultural humility and justice. Earl is passionate about dismantling systemic barriers and creating joyful, liberatory spaces where marginalized communities can flourish.


With roots in Jamaica and a commitment to global justice, Earl brings personal experience and academic expertise to their advocacy. They believe that imagination is not only a form of resistance—it serves as a roadmap to more just and expansive futures. 


Earl holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Drake University, a master’s in adult education and training from Regis University, and a Ph.D. in Justice Studies from Arizona State University.
